ÁRAS ÉANNA ARTS CENTRE
Looking out towards Inis Meáin, Áras Eanna is Ireland and Europe's most westerly arts and heritage enter. Formerly a weaving factory, it was renovated in 1999 by its owners, Údarás na Gaeltachta and Inis Oírr's co-operative society, Cómhar Caomhán, with assistance from the European Union and the Arts Council.
Áras Éanna aims to fulfil the dual role of being an arts, heritage and craft enter for the islanders of Inis Oírr and a enter for contemporary and traditional arts for the wider community. It has a 70 seat theatre, a gallery, a café, craft workshops, classrooms and an artist's residence. The enter hosts drama, concerts, courses and events and has been home to a series of artists since its inception in 2000. Áras Éanna is also particularly suited as host to groups who wish to hold courses which need a quiet and reflective environment and we welcome several groups each year who study celtic spirituality, meditation and personal development.
